When you are going in for Surgery, you want to be in expert hands….
When patients make the decision to choose surgery for an orthopaedic injury as an option, there is often some anxiety about what happens after surgery. After their first post surgery visit to Eramosa Physiotherapy Associates, we commonly have patients express their relief that they feel confident that our physiotherapists are there to guide them through their rehabilitation. Choosing a physiotherapist to progress your rehabilitation should be more about their experience and resources, than the convenience of a clinic’s location.
Our goal hasn’t changed over our 12-year history. While our initial emphasis was and continues to be on shoulder rehabilitation, particularly after shoulder rotator cuff repair, stabilizations and arthroscopic surgeries, we have transferred our information gathering and research skills into many areas of orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation. Most recently we have critically evaluated the evidence and revamped our Anterior Cruciate Ligament Surgical Rehabilitation Protocols for the Knee. Through our ongoing effort to stay involved in the most up to date practices, Eramosa Physiotherapy is also involved with researching the effectiveness on pre surgical rehabilitation for total hip and knee replacement – otherwise knows as “prehab”.
Our philosophies of practice create the necessary environment to make your rehabilitation successful. Our direct physiotherapist given care, extended treatment times and commitment to communication with your orthopaedic surgeon, family doctor and other key members create the framework for the patient to complete their Path to Improved Health.
If you and your physician have decided that you are a surgery candidate and you plan to undergo surgery, you should also plan your post-surgical rehabilitation process. Expect excellence in your physiotherapist.
